Forward - From the Heartland of Carolina

This is a continuing story of the journey Forward shared by 2 people, Lynne and Tom. Both love to LIVE life to it's fullest, which currently means spending lots of time outdoors, working on various projects from gardens to patios, flowers to vegetables, sunrises and sunsets, birds and woodland critters, and spending time with family. Don't forget to check the monthly archives, and please feel free to leave us a comment so we know you stopped by.

It has been a very rough few weeks

and difficult decisions have had to be made concerning Mom. After a short stay in the hospital which was not a happy event for Mom this time around and after talking things over with extended family members, doctors, home care nurse and most importantedly Mom, we decided that it would be best to enter her into Hospice Care. Mom had made it very clear to several of us that she never wanted to go back into a hospital again, that she was ready to 'go home and see Jesus'.

In many ways for me it was coming back full circle for it was exactly 5 years to almost the day that Glenn was entered into Hospice. It brought back so many memories and making the same decisions again with a family member has been very emotional. I am blessed to have the same Hospice counselor as before so she knows my story and was so sweet when talking to Tom and I about my reliving 5 years ago. I am also so blessed to have Tom by my side through all this. It is so ironic that 5 years ago he was just a name on a computer screen. We had met through a forum and then through the pages of the Caring Bridge community and then he helped me through Glenn's ordeal and listened as I typed my frustrations out on the computer. It just really drives home the very last words of the song we have called our own which say "someone had a plan in it long before we even knew". Those are from "Keeper of the Stars".

And so I come to the cyber world again asking for prayers in helping all of us -children, grandchildren and those who have married into this family to have the strength to see Mom through to the day when she will be where she wants to be "home with Jesus". Mom is ready - she is at peace with her life - all we can ask at this point is for God to take her peacefully.

Thank you all for stopping by - say a prayer and hug your loved ones and tell them you love them.
